I'm off to Sydney this week and am taking a bike out with me.
I was planning to cycle from the airport to my hotel. Does anyone know if this is possible or will I end up trying to cycle down a motorway?
Don't know, it's a long way to some places (Manly). I'll start this thread off by saying it's the law to wear a helmet.
Start with [url= http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/usingroads/downloads/sydney_parramatta_bikemap_p1.pdf ]this[/url], but you'll probably need to get a good street atlas of Sydney too. The Gregory's ones are OK. Or google maps of course ..... 🙂

It is possible to ride into the centre without using the motorways.
It is a horrible city to ride in though, drivers don't give you much space. If you have a MTB, check out the Manly Dam loop. Great fun for a city riding spot.
