I ordered a bottom bracket from www.cyclexpress.co.uk last Wednesday, got an e-mail confirmation of order and advised delivery of 2-4 Working Days.
Nothing received yet so dropped them an e-mail this morning then got this response 'Unfortunately the item you have ordered has sold out. No additional stock of this item is due. No charge has been made to your card for this item and your order will be cancelled.' Were they not going to bother their lazy arses telling me that, did they just think 'oh **** it, we'll just not bother telling the customer'. Now if a product is out of stock that’s fine, it’s not their fault. But it is kind of customary to bother yer arse to let the customer know.
Funnily enough the b/b is still showing on their website with no mention of stock levels but the price has gone up by £6. So the clowns forgot to change a price when Shimano prices went up then don't want to sell at the price they advertise.
Now I've ordered a couple of times from them before a few years ago and they were slow but at least the order was sent. I will be avoiding them at all costs in the future.
The e-mail finished with the line, 'We Hope You Shop with cyclexpress.co.uk again.' Not ****ing likely mate.
Anyone else had shite service from these bozos or have I just been unlucky?
Only had good service from them - a little slower than some, but not too bad and for some things they're great on price.
Obviously too great on price in this case.
used to be great service, i never had problems with them up until recently when i ordered an altura attack extreme jacket, only to get an email a few days after it had been "processed" saying that the order was cancelled as they'd sold out. i rang them to see if they had any other sizes and they said "no, we've had none of these left at all for over a month"... so why leave it on your site saying you have them available then?
still, prior to this they've been great so i'm prepared to probably give them the benefit of the doubt as i've got some serious bargains from them in the past...
You would think in the current economic climate that retailers would be bending over backwards to ensure they deliver excellent customer service. For a company to not bother telling the customer that a product is out of stock and that they will not be fulfilling an order almost a week after the order is placed is totally unacceptable.
Couldn't agree more with the first post. Service is sh1t.
Ordered some honey stinger gels and they sent me powerbar ones. To make it even more laughable one of them was out of date. I phoned up and they said they were out of stock of honey stingers.
First and last time i'll be using em.
I had a similar experience with them a year or so ago. Oddly it was a BB that was the problem then too.
I ordered a SQ taper BB and a set of pedals, a few days later the pedals turned up with a note on the invoice saying the BB was out of stock. Not the end of the world, but would have been nice if they had emailed me to let me know...
