Bought some Tektro 926AL Mini Vs. Fitted by LBS but they just aren't working.
I am running 105 STi levers.
If they are set up so the wheels can be dropped in or out with ease, the levers go all the way back to the bars and the wheels just don't stop.
If I set them up so there is a decent amount of braking power, I just can't get the noodles out. The only way of changing wheels is to either deflate the tyre or slacken off the cables and then do them up again.
As even the venerable Zepnat state that these are suitable for Sti levers, something must be wrong with the setup. Has anyone come across this before? Do you have a solution?
Thats just the way they are, you'll have to get used to the deflating the tyre thing ๐ I use campag levers, they have a button to slacken of the brakes.
Bah!
Thanks for the feedback. I'll just have to get used to it.
I found that there was an in-between your two experiences, very small adjustments to be made on the wire, barrel adjusters and the little grub screws by the pads, it is possible to get them there (well it was for me, 9spd Tiagra STI's btw)just requires patience.
Thinking about it you could fit an inline cable adjuster, set it so you could slacken the brakes of to get the wheel out as needed.
I have 105 STI's and Tektro mini vees on a bike with none of this bother. You need more patience with setup. Read "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance" before proceeding.

I'll tell the mechanic at the LBS! ๐
