We are hoping to ride the downhill course at Cwmcarn and I have just noticed that the uplift service is sold out for the day we plan to ride, is it possible / feasible to ride to the top and what sort of ride / time is it to get there etc ?
( we are riding AM type bikes )

Yes there is also a shortcut which gets you to the top of the DH track in about 15 minutes. Ask a local

also if tehre are spaces, more likely toward the end of the day- you can buy individual lifts up

You can ride up the tarmac following the bus route to the staging post and save the £4-ish single fare, or pay as you go.
Early and late will have spaces but often not in the core of the day.
Alternatively, ride the Twrch Trail to the top and decide which way to come down.
I have done the DH to the road crossing and switched to the XC down to the carpark for variety.

Thanks for the info, I think we are riding the Twrch trail and then the downhill, good to know we can get back up to ride the run again.
