[#1989503]

I will be stopping in Cwmcarn next week, so I thought I would visit Afan too, but time allowed out on the bike might be a bit limited...

So which routes would be the best ones to do, or not to miss out on ?

Any other places to visit or things to do ? (away from the bike & riding).

Cheers

Do you mean at Afan? If you have limited time then the best route to do is White's Level. Without the energy section is should take you about 90-120 minutes, add another 20mins maybe for the energy section. If you do Whites and the energy section and still have time then ride back up the first climb and do the final descent of the Skyline trail.

I'd do Whiles Level, but if you have time, make it W2 which is a figure of 8 of Whites Level and The Wall.

Geetee's suggestion is also a good option IMO. The wall does have a lot fireroad climb, where as the Whites/Skyline climb is singletrack and much more fun.

Yes, sorry going to the mtb centre at Afan, time might be limited...

FWIW the final descent of The Wall is really very good but it's a longer loop to get there as it's back down the valley; you used to start from the other visitor centre but I'm not sure that's still there. I think it's accessible from where you exit the final descent of Whites but I'm not sure of how far or easy that is.

Reply to geetee1972:

Start at the car park at bottom of the wall.Climb fire road and do the first S/T section, then stay on the fire road until you get to Picadilly.

Exit picadilly and your on the high access road to the start of energy.Do energy then climb to the top of Windy point.Bang down there, then back over access road and cane the wall all the way down ... wooooooooooooo!! about 2 hours and 30 mins of ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks Carpe, much appreciated. I'm there in a few weeks time and haven't done the wall for a while.
