I've asked my lbs and they said it would wreck their facing tool taking that much off. Any ideas on how I could do this? Thanks.

Ali or steel? I took 5mm off my cx bb to fit a chainguide with a facing tool.It took ages but with plenty of cutting fluid it was fine.

Yes it's an ally kinesis ff29 that I want to put a hammerschmidt on and I need the 2.5mm for an iscg adaptor.

I love gearboxes and all that but really wouldn't recommend a hammerschmit, they seem to be all the worst bits of good ideas

I thought you needed iscg mounts actually on the frame. There's going to be a lot a torque going through that (To be held in place by a bb).
A bit of google-fu shows does some 'different' methods of ensuring the adaptor does'nt spin round.

If you like them then fair enough, didn't want you chopping down a frame to find it wasn't worth it

Yes mate thanks ? I've seen various ways to keep the iscg adaptor in place, some people have even got away with just a tight bb. I just fancy having a 29er with it on, just wish the bb was already 68mm it would be a lot easier!

Mark off 2.5mm and hack it down within 0.5mm with a file and then get them to face it?

Hammerschidt is brilliant. I rode it when it came out at a previous job. Love it!
