I was traveling up a bridleway in Culver Cliff Woods yesterday evening ( the slippery bit where there is an old ruin) when a 70 year old long haired male with beard, tattoos, and a dog, gave me loads of invective about cycling in these woods. In his world bridleways were just for horses and pedestrians and dogs. I tried to put him straight on that but with limited success. He seemed to be saying bicycles were banned from these woods. I've been traveling this route a couple of times a year for the past 15-20 years and no sign I've seen has ever indicated that this is the case. He was pretty much asking for a fight but I argued the toss with him and we ended up being mates!!!
Was he talking bollocks or is there some sneaky bye law banning bicycles?
He's talking bollocks. Used it for years as has all the other local riders I know.
