The main difference looks to be in the fork, no idea what dif a Fox Factory RP23 and Fox Performance RP23 makes, I suspect none that you would detect. XT and SLX dif is not very much, few grammes and barely noticeable in performance. I'd be inclined to suggest the £500 cheaper Stereo and consider selling the forks as new and upgrading the forks for slight second Fox or similar (should beable to still save yourself around £500).
I have a 2011 Stereo team.
Full XT, RP23 and Revs.
The 23 is great, XT v's SLX is little or no difference.
The Revs are a great fork and require less servicing.
Try and pick up a 2011 model if available
I'd go for the cheaper version just to avoid the Fox fork, but thats just a personal issue with Fox forks. My mates own a Cube dealership and have just received one of the first 2012 Stereos. I think he has ridden it a couple of times since it arrived middle of last week. They ran the Stereos last year and i have a Fritzz which i love. Give them a bell and they can give you some advice on which one to go for (and availability - 2011 are all gone)
Twelve50 Bikes in Frodsham Cheshire 01928 898011... ask for Matt or Rick.
If you need a 20" then can we poke you towards this http://www.thebikechain.co.uk/Cube-Stereo-Race-20-2011081209/
Cheers for all the info.
Wow, that's a very good price on 2011 stereo race which i'm very much now condsidering as I think an 18" is slightly too small
Couple of shops I've spoken to down here (Cardiff) say they won't have any availability until January
Mccet, i'll give them a ring, cheers.
