Increasing problem on my Orange P7 :
When applying torque through the cranks, after free-wheeling for example, I get a definite 'crack' sound from down below, could be a sharp creak ?
I have checked the pedals, haven't touched the BB (yet another tool required), what else is it likely to be ?
Sometimes it happens as soon as I put weight on the pedal, sometimes there's a short delay but it's almost every time now...

As above. Quick release.
Take it off and clean and grease it.

Same applies to the seat clamp.

Oh ?
Tighten it or get a new one ?
How do I rule this out / confirm it ?

Cheers

The rails on your seat may also crack a bit.

Mine do, nowt you can do about that apart from replace it.

I had smilar issue on my Giant, stripped out the BB cleaned, greased and refitted ......... sorted!

BB are always worth pulling out periodically as you don't want to have to try and remove a seized one (or seatpost), trust me!!

If you do but a BB tool get one that threads into the end of the axle or get a bolt and some hefty washers to do the same on a basic tool, because at the best of times you may need to put a fair bit of pressure on and they're a bugger if they slip mid effort!

I get the same thing happening but it feels more like the rear hub which is also sounding quite noisy.
