New XT cransket arrived today but there doesn't seem to be a preload screw or thread for it. Is that not a thing now?

Mine arrived a couple of weeks ago. I have not fitted it yet but I am sure I saw the plastic pre load screw in the box.
I will definitely check when I get home tonight.
Mine has the newer design from the one you have pictured / linked to.

HAve fitted lots of those, they all cam with a preload cap

Last one I got the preload screw was in with the BB (I think) - I was just about to call Chain Reaction (or whoever it was, can't remember) when I found it.

It's in teh end of the crank axle.

Found it, it was inside the bottom bracket that I wasn't using. Literally inside it.
