Following on from a previous thread, where the concensus was this was a crack:

I've now dropped the forks out and it looks like a deep scratch to me, thoughts?

On the back of my carbon forks there is also what appears to be a deep scratch, would have to be at a right angle to line up with the headtube (I assume these are fine):

Sweet, should I be worried about the forks?
how do you manage to sctratch it there? plus corners are a weak point, and it starts on the corner.

scratch, or crack on the lacquer. keep on riding.

sand the lacquer back to make sure. does look like a scratch, tbh, but if it's a crack it's a big one!
Thanks for all the replies, its back together now and I'll be riding it back to work on Monday.
I will keep an eye on it and mark the end of the scratch with a marker to see if it grows.
float - there is a mark on the forks AND the frame - how do you suggest that two cracks on two separate componants would crack in a similar place like that ?
