So nearly got all the way around my favourite circuit of Cottingley woods thinking yes my cheeky trails are unaffected by the logging when Ipedalled slap bang into the middle of the cleared area. No sign of the path anywhere. 🙁 Met a woman planting aqua lega to try and cheer things up a bit she said they are moving into the left side of the woods next but thinning not clearing.
In a few years it'll look better some native trees have been left and new ones planted, new trails will emerge over time 🙂 The tracks left by the machinery is quite good fun to ride.
After the felling at Stainburn it looked like the cleared area in Cottingley but it's looking more and more like woodland again.
Rode through today and some of the brash was on fire, not controlled burning, fire brigade were just arriving when I passed.
