[Closed] Cotic Solaris, Test ride around Gloucester or High Wycombe area?

Heya,

I am looking very seriously at getting a Cotic Solaris for long distance rides and some general fun when I don't want to use my full sus (i.e. in winter gloop).

However, I am right on the border of sizes L and XL (6'3", 35" inseam). From other threads on this site, I am guessing that Cy would probably say L not XL. However, I was in the same position when I bought my FS and I plumped for the L (Kona Cadabra). For what I use it for (throwing around and having fun), it is perfect, however I do sit slightly too far back, which I suspect may start to cause pains on long multi days, which is what I want the Solaris for.

Sooo, does anyone know where I can ride a Solaris in L or XL around either Glouc.s or Maidenhead / High Wycombe? Or if anyone is feeling kind an fancies a quick ride on my Kona while I ride the Solaris so I can see what it is like?

Failing all that, any Solaris owners out there care to comment on my situation?!

Thanks a lot!

Chris

Youve the same dilema as me. We are about the same size I reckon.
I test rode a L solaris on a Cotic demo day and it felt really good. Nice and responsive, not too big. If I hadnt ridden an XL later the same day that a friend had, I would not have considered an XL one bit. But I did which is why I have the same problem as you. The XL did feel that tad bigger but nothing that Id say it was too big. I think the consensus is from others is that both will work fine. The L is a bit more chuckable, the XL is build more for long rides and probably less chuckable. Im thinking of the XL as I reckon the extra length in the top tube can be compensated for with a shorter stem and riser bars if need be, however if the L feels a bit small, then extending the stem may mean you are leaning too far forward and like you say sitting too far back
hope that helps
