the rear break lever pulls too near to the grip and won’t fully brake. Is there a screw or adjustable thingamybob I can adjust to get the brake biting earlier. I’ve just had the brake bleed so don’t want to do that again.

If it's pulling all the way to the grip and not braking then you need to bleed it.

I did wonder.

It has just been bled in a shop. Looks like I might have to give them a call.

There are brake pads fitted?

The brakes bite with the lever pulled on full but only just. Going down hill they don’t bite enough. I had hoped I could make a small adjustment rather than taking the bike back. It’s not really usable the way it is atm.

Unless the brake pads are worn down to the backing plate it sounds like there is air in the system.

Does the bite point change if you pull the lever rapidly and repeatedly?
