looking at google maps it looks like there is a track across a estuary.
is it passable on a bike?

Ton - you see the power lines near to top ? that's the crossing 2 weeks ago. At low tides you can walk over :)[img] [/img]

and this is looking the other way, with my kids playing cricket on the beach ๐Ÿ™‚

It's sea which dries to sand from memory, you can certainly walk across. Can't remember if there was a track per se but you will be fine to at least walk over with your bike.

They are only separated a wee bitty bit.

Definitely go though. Colonsay is beautiful.

Ton the crossing is tidal. There is not a track but make sure you follow the vehicle tracks in the sand. You will usually get around 4 hours on Oronsay on a low tide but it very much depends on the tide and the wind. If you cross a bit too early be prepared for a wee paddle at the Oronsay end. I would definitely recommend that you consult a local on Colonsay before you cross. The sand is usually very wet and sticks to everything so make sure you give your bikes a good clean when you get back - it will eat cables! It certainly eats vehicles!
