A case of knowing what I want, but being kinda rubbish at shopping.

I use SKS race blades on my skinnier wheeled 700's and find them pretty useful at keeping most of the road wet off, but can't seen to find anything similar that'll cover the width of fatter tires (700x40 / 29x1.5's).

Fixed guards are always an option of course, but that comes at the cost of dropping tire size, which rather defeats the point of running bigger tires in the first place.

Any thoughts please - I won't get the clip-on MTB style guards to fit well enough (around my luggage), so would like something on the seat-stay / fork-blade?

I've got some coverage on the back from my rackless bag, so MTFU goes some of the way, but only to a point, as a wet arse does eventually have it's limits.

In the great STW tradition in recommend what you own; I've got some of these for my cross bike that's running 700x40c tyres. They were a bit of a squeeze to fit, but they work fine for commuting purposes.

SKS Beavertail XLs? They are supposed to work for up to 54mm wide tyres.
