[#1869442]

Ok- wheel fitted and wiggled there is alot of play from the axle area.

Help. I've tried tightening the cones- do I need to remove the cassette- loosen off, re grease the axle and is there a way of seperating the end cap(s) to tighten a different way?

The wheel was recently rebuilt however I'd rather do this myself or worsecase send over to Bromley bikes (££)

Leave the wheel in the frame.
Undo the small allen bolt on the locking collar*.
*You can see the collar on the none driveside on this hub.

Then turn the colar until you get rid of the play.
Now tighten the allen bolt back up.

If only they were SS hubs

The geared hubs now also use the same system.

I think you can upgrade to this too.

Have a look at the movies on the CK site, they may help.

Hora, 'if' you are really being serious, then drop me a line as I might be interested in the rear wheel.

You're selling a wheel because you can't be assed to adjust the adjustable bearings.
I'm lost for words.

Its over 7yrs old. Its been my sole rear wheel. Its had three new rims in its time, one axle and one shell already. It could prove to be a bargain but also - this is what Im thinking...what IF the ratchet/teeth etc inside are worn? Its potentially a never-ending spend.

Im sick of spending money on it. Its going on Ebay.

Exactly- I was torn between making a quick-buck or looking like an money-incompetent edjit.

Oh and I paid £370 posted for the complete wheelset posted from Al at wheelcraft 😀

Oh sheesh. Choices. 😆

I'd love to make it into a salt and pepper set (front is 12mm qr). Possible?
