[Closed] Chris King BB - Shimano and SRAM/Truvativ Differences?

Hi,
I bought a one today and now I've got it home realised it's meant for SRAM chainsets, this isn't what I wanted! Does anybody know if the only difference between the two are the extra bits in the bag (adaptor sleeve and disc springs)? Or, are the bearing spindle sleeves a different size to the Shimano ones?
I could try fitting it but want to be able to return if it doesn't work.
Cheers.

this

so i would assume the cups are the same,

Are you sure there is a difference ? I run a couple of Chris King BB's on diff bikes, one with Shimano XTR chainset and T'other has had Raceface and Shimano... are you talking about the spacers in the bag ? 5mm rings, same diameter as BB ?

shimano raceface and a couple of others all use the same side bb axle where as sram use one which is narrower (at the non drive side end i think) so chris king supply a spacer kit to accommodate a sram axle size. other than that the cups are the same.

just dont used the little shim/spacer kit which should be in a small bag inside the bb bag.

sram axles are stepped,

raceface and shimano use the same axle

I do know that to convert a Hope HT2 style BB from a Shimano fit to SRAM / Truvativ you need a reducer for (I think) the drive side aperture.

Even though it's in two parts, it's only used on one side (one bit goes from the inside, the other from the outside) reducing the diamater of the hole at that end. Maybe you have something like that in there on yours and you can remove it? So saying, I'm not sure if the same applies to Chris King ones though? Hopefully some help... 😕 !

Thanks for all replies. I thought I could use it, just wanted to make sure.
I've just seen how much those conversion kits are! I think I'll put the extra bits on Ebay.
Cheers.

what you have is a shimano bottom bracket with the kit that dirty rider has linked to included with it. like i say above, just don't use those bits. simple.
