Just bought a set of XT shifters from a reputable on line shop to replace one that was fitted by my LBS last year (I broke it, not a component fault).
The body of the new one seams to be identical but the finish appears to be cheaper than the old one.
Have Shimano dropped their quality over the last year or do they produce cheaper specced gear for on line retailers?

The indicator display didn't have the shiny logo on it and the levers have a rough finish.
Not bothered as long as it works. Just wondering if they produce to more than one specification depending on the retailer.
