[#2126774]

I'm trying to get hold of a Black Charge Spoon but struggling. My LBS has had stock 'due in' for ages and it appears to be the same on most websites.

Anyone spotted any for sale anywhere? Failing that, any suggestions for a good/similar alternative?

Cheers,

Ian

I ended up getting the Wiggle Black/Orange one earlier this year as the Black one seemed to be out of stock everywhere for ages.

Seems like the situation hasn't improved!?

PS - I'll sell you my slightly worn black/orange one for £75. 😆

GW: Cheers I'll have a look around for those.

Stumpy01: If you add a decimal point between those numbers then deal 🙂

Have a look for a Madison Flux. The same saddle just with a slight change to the stitching on the top

Poppa: None of those say they have stock in.

Dave E: Unfortunately everywhere I've checked as been saying "Next week" for at least a month...

Damn! My smart arse reply has come back to haunt me.

Are you sure? I could add one to my basket on this site:

and this one:

http://www.gonebikingmad.co.uk/products.php?plid=m3b9s382p84

and this one:

http://www.all-about-the-home.co.uk/charge-spoon-saddle-2399-p.asp

Where does it say out of stock, or do you want the website to explicitly confirm that they have the stock?

I find lots of sites keep gear listed even when they're out of stock, then leave you hanging on till it comes in. I'm a pessimistic sod, so unless it states it's in stock I assume the worst 😉

Perhaps actually getting in touch with them to find out might be a plan 😳

The flux saddles and others are not the same as a spoon, it's to do with the way the cover is laid and fitted plus the stitching. Must be true Nick at Charge told me 🙂

I haven't had black ones in stock for ages either, I would wait for the new Pittards leather versions out soon, very nice looking.

Just sold a Black Gusset R today (and yes - it's the same as a Spoon other than the fact it has no stitching to wear away and cause the cover to split.)

What type are you after? If it's just a bog standard cro-mo rail one and you have a similar WTB pure/race ect V to swap then look no further.

I tried the Spoon but don't get on with it like I do the WTB saddles.

email in profile.

If anybody wants a brand spanking new Black cromo Spoon, I have one that's not even been fitted...

I'll accept a swap for a brand new white one or possibly one of the black/orange Wiggle special ones too...

email is in my profile if you're interested...

So for all we know the geometry, cover and base material and saddle rails are the same, but the stitching is different?! Sounds like the same saddle to me...!

If you get the choice the Ti one is comfier, but in Takisawa's scientific weight comparison I couldnt tell the difference by just holding each.
There was a black SDG one on the ads yesterday, that looked very simmillar to the Spoon.
