So the Charge Spoon saddle has been my go to saddle for years, always got on with it and never had any issues.
I've just put one on my new bike and for the life of me I can't get comfy on the bugger.
Previous versions have always felt like hammocks and supported my well but this one just doesn't feel the same ?
Do any of you know if the design have been changed at all ?
They still make it?
I bought a black one a while ago that was nowhere near as comfortable as the pleather ones I've had in the past. The material seemed to be quite 'grippy'.
Yep, comes as standard and colour matched on (all?) their new bikes.
Mine seems the same as always. Has your arse got bigger? It's more likely that your riding position has changed slightly.
I think changes in body shape can definitely play a part.
I've put on a few kg of leg/glute/core muscle this season, and just can't get comfortable on a saddle i've ridden 1000's of miles on quite happily before. To the extent i've actually got a new one to try next week.

I have a spoon on my other bike and that's fine.
Hmm, that's odd. I've got spoons, (or the Gusset/Madison alternative) on all my bikes, and the last few weeks, they all felt a little uncomfortable. I wonder if the newest one has done me a bit of mischief, which I'm noticing on the others?
Initially I put it down to a crap seatpost which rotates it backwards, so I've readjusted that, (again) to be slightly nose down which felt better, so I did the same with the others.
I bought a Spoon about three weeks ago for my new Giant Trance 2 (had one on my Cube Stereo 140 for about 10 months) and initially thought it felt different, but after riding it for a few rides I then swapped it with the one on the Cube - and it felt exactly the same.
No idea what that tells you!
Isn't the Spoon just a generic design? My Giant Defy came with one, but branded Giant
They do sag a bit over the years.
Weirdly, I've never got on with them - but the one that came with my new bike instantly felt comfortable.
Perhaps they have changed the design in the last year or so?
I bought one a couple months ago, initially uncomfortable as needed breaking in but never had a problem after the first ride or two maybe
I was always a SDG bellair guy but I got sick of them either: the fabric wearing through, the rails snapping or them becoming incredibly rattly.
That and that they're not cheap to replace. So I bought a Spoon a couple years ago as they're supposedly a similar shape but I never got on with it.
I bought a cheap WTB Pure to try from positive reviews and really like it, enough to maybe buy a Ti one next time.
Oh I'm nearing 40 and my rump might be a smidgeon bigger these days which the Pure seems to cope well with.
I've run Ti Spoons for years.
Recently bought a Cambrium.
It's lovely.
It's because your new one hasn't hone baggy & molded to your arse like your well worn ones. Give it a few rides
My Spoon was very stiff to start with but seems to have softened up with use (more hammock like), maybe a bit of perseverance is required. Also tried a Flux which seems softer from the outset.
Can any of you tell me if you think my saddle is nose up or down or pretty level.

Level. Ish? Why not use er.... a spirit level?
I prefer a flat saddle set up level on the road bike and a concave saddle set slightly nose down on the mountain bike.
Not 100% sure why other than comfort maybe.
