Anyone used the Brevent lifts this year. the new 2010 vtt map show no sign of it anymore. please tell me its OK for bikes still ๐
i was there this weekend. no probelms ๐
I was in cham last week but didnt go all the way up, only to plan praz, that was fine for bikes, i didnt even look to see if i could go up to the brevent, im out there next friday for a few days and planning on doing the belachat trail so i hope it is open too. I think Tony went to plan praz not all the way up.
sweet, great news thanks.
Holy trail here we come
When are you doing that?
sometime after the 6th (that week)
is the bellachat trail good? looks like switch back city on the map!
Bel Lachat is great.......very tight at the top and opens up when you get to the tree line.
Really hard work with triple clamps due to tightness/steepness and regularity of the switchbacks at the top.
Last year signs appeared at Brevent forbidding riding in the reserve... efectively ruling out Bel Lachat and the Holy trail (Aguillettes des houches)..... not sure if this was just for July/August? (i was there end of June).
I'm there on the 11th (hopefully)........ report back asap if you can?
What ever you do, DO NOT be tempted to ride from Bel Lachat to Merlet on the GR5.... it looks great on the map but is pretty unrideable and very dangerous in places IMHO.
Yes i saw those signs in august last year, we rode the holy with no problems first week of august last year (cheeky yes but its only right on the edge of the reserve)
going to try the trail down to servoz this year as that looked epic from the top of aiguillettes des houches)
check it on google earth ๐
will have to give the bellechat a go as well
we are there 5th - 12th so will report back
Couple of mates missed the turn for Merlet on the holy trail and ended up down in Servoz... not much fun getting back if they wont let you on the train and a bitch of a ride back up with a DH bike! That'll learn em! ๐
looks great on the map but as i'm a lazy git i'll be giving it a miss!
