Changed the rear wheel on the road bike and took wheel from the cross bike which is set up ss. Put the 10 speed cassette on and put it on the bike. It's on the turbo and when ran through the gears to check indexing I noticed the cassette wobble as the wheel turned? All the spacers are there and it's tight but it seems to oscillate, nothing to worry about or a disaster waiting to happen?

It could be play in your freehub bearings.

What kind of wheel hub is it?

shimano rs10, second hand not in incredible shape but decent. Hoping it's just the wheel is bit battered rather than anything else

it's the freehub. My XT wheels do that, I can't feel any play but it oscillates as you describe. From experience eventually the freehub will lock up.

my old mavic hubs used to do this, had to fit new freehub bearings and all was well again, i would certainly say take car if using it as it may begin to stick and this can cause some nasty chain suck and worse case lock your wheel up
