Namely I'm taking about carbon road frames. Do you line up the gap in the frame with the gap on the clamp? I've seen these,
has a inner plate that slides round to cover the gap.
This is the frame in question,
there's a few pictures showing the clamp (not great sorry). The clamp came from the shop with the gaps not lining up but I've since lined up both gaps.
Bit ocd but if anyone knows if there's a correct way.
I've also heard if the seat tube has a slot at the top, turn the clamp so the slot in the clamp is on the opposite side. This will minimize the chance of pinching. Anyone got any ideas?
I know my USE carbon seatpost advises placing the slot in the clamp 180deg from the slot in the frame. From an engineering viewpoit it would seem to spread the load better. It doesn't distinguish frame material either.
