I have a Cannondale Rush 1000 with an aluminium frame (the black and silver one) and have made a lot of upgrades to bring the weight down - Crossmax SLF wheels, FSA carbon cranks etc etc and it now weighs a respectible 26lb and will probably be down to about 25lb with a few more tweaks.
Which leaves me thinking about upgrading the frame for the carbon version before they stop making it next year. Being as I can buy a whole bike for £100 more than the frame in current sales, I was going to swap the best bits out and sell what is left as a whole bike. If I could get £750 for the old bike then the new frame would work out at about £850.
The question is - would it be worth it? Does the new Himod carbon frame ride any better? Have I become slightly obsessed? Will the red and white paint scheme look as good as I imagine with red Crossmax SLR hubs?
Having demo'd one I can say the frame is awesome, worth it over your current bike? Never ridden an alu some can not say.
How to you quantify if it's worth it?
Do you have the cash? Do you like riding it?
You don't need us to justify it reallly, just do it (or not..).
I have a frame and fork for sale....rush hi mod.
sorry to thread jump but they can be hard to find.

I guess I would just like to get the most current version of the bike I love. The Rush rides so well and the Lefty is equally as good imo. It's such a shame they are stopping it next year - another great simple design (like the Prophet) which is disappearing.
The RZ120 just doesn't do it for me!
Does anyone know if Cannondale are still doing the frame exchange?
