[#6974486]

new bike is 11spd Sram X01 but I prefer the ergonmics of XTR pods.

Wheels/freehub are Sram XD, so I can't use a Shimano cassette (without swapping the freehub).

Sram cassette is XG-1180.

Ta

I know of one person doing this and he claims it runs perfect so yes.

Apparently so, folks on here have raved about it, and I just bought the bits to do it.

None needed, just works out of the box. Medium cage mech for me on a hardtail.

I have just put together a shimano xtr m9000 rear mech and shifter onto a 10-42 tooth cassette. It works a treat! Admittedly I've ridden it 100m on the street but it seems absolutely fine

As others have already said, yep, works fine. No, there's nothing special to do - just worked for me.

Working beautifully for me too, other than one of the adjuster bolts on the mech rounding off as soon as I touched it (with a brand new allen key and next to no force, before anyone starts). A 2mm allen key, Shimano? Really? What was wrong with a screwdriver?
