new bike is 11spd Sram X01 but I prefer the ergonmics of XTR pods.
Wheels/freehub are Sram XD, so I can't use a Shimano cassette (without swapping the freehub).
Sram cassette is XG-1180.

I know of one person doing this and he claims it runs perfect so yes.
Apparently so, folks on here have raved about it, and I just bought the bits to do it.
Yep, I'm doing it, works perfectly.
Yup as above perfect

Any setup tips or issues?
great
anyone want some brand new X01 shifters and rear mech?
Any setup tips or issues?
None needed, just works out of the box. Medium cage mech for me on a hardtail.
Xtr Di2 works perfectly on Sram cassette too....
I have just put together a shimano xtr m9000 rear mech and shifter onto a 10-42 tooth cassette. It works a treat! Admittedly I've ridden it 100m on the street but it seems absolutely fine

As others have already said, yep, works fine. No, there's nothing special to do - just worked for me.
Working beautifully for me too, other than one of the adjuster bolts on the mech rounding off as soon as I touched it (with a brand new allen key and next to no force, before anyone starts). A 2mm allen key, Shimano? Really? What was wrong with a screwdriver?
fitted mine yesterday. As said, works a treat.
[I have a Sram shifter and mech for sale if anyone is interested...]
Might be interested in the mech and shifter. Email is in profile please could you send me details and price.
Price on the shifter and mech please...
I'll put them all up in an advert when I finally find some time....
