Can in be converted to 1. 1/8th via a different crown race of adapter?

Many thanks

As long as the angle of the contact patch of Hope and Uber bearings /crown races are the same - they probably are, but it's not a given (why you should generally use the crown race that comes with the headset).

Hope's crown race adaptor is just that - an adaptor - so you'd use your existing 1.5 race and bearings and the Hope jobbie just resizes it to fit your 1 1/8" steerer. I've used one in the past with no problems to fit older 1 1/8" Lyriks with a tapered headset.

My bad, I always presumed they replaced the original crown race.
