Can anyone recommend a case that will attach to the shoulder strap of a rucksack/backpack?

Preferably waterproof.

Lowepro Apex 20 AW or 30 AW. Has a rain cover, and also a belt/rucksack velcro strap attachment on the back, although the Lowepro website doesn't show it:

That looks neat though I would need the velcro strap to be horizontal so I could fit it on the vertical rucksack shoulder straps and the case remain the correct way up if that makes sense.

I have that and it's very good.

Why would you need the case to stay "the right way up"? It's only for compact cameras which don't get in the way if they're horizontally mounted to a shoulder strap.

I attach the same bag with the velcro strap to the sternum strap on my camel back. Then have a small spring loaded clip that secures the bag to a buckle on the camel back.
Perhaps overkill but very secure.
