Has anyone ordered or had a look at one of these ?

Apparently there are only 250 of them made

Make 250 and get Joe Public to check the clearances foe you. If its Ok after a month make some more. 😉

A fella I work with was trying to order one on Thursday. I think he eventually managed to get one.
I did try to gently talk him out of it, but to no avail. Not sure that QR rear end and IS brake mounts have any place on a modern trail bike.

There's a couple of people of one of of FB groups I'm in that have picked them up, look decent IMO. The old one was great to ride, if they've solved the clearance and QC issues it should be great.

It's a shame they're a little out of date already though, seat tube is a bit long, no stealth routing and the aforementioned QR rear wheel.

they should be tough enough, the one i worked on recently weighed about the same as a small moon.

What sort of weight do you think they are ?

I would think they would be ideal for a starter bike

Dunno, but the standard Bossnut is 31lb, so maybe slightly more?
But you should definitely reconsider, as others have pointed out, it has a qr rear end and IS mounts so will never cope with the level of gnarr that the stw crowd will throw at it and will always show you up for the amateur that you are by being hopelessly out of date in the trail centre carpark. 🙂

Anyway, having had a bounce on a standard one, I think it would be hard to find a similarly sorted bike for the same price, especially as the bossnut is now down to 899. Boardman team fs, maybe?

Having an IS mount wouldn't bother me in the slightest. Cross thread a post mount you have issues. An adaptor is three quid

The Boardman Pro FS above has a better rear axle and pike rc's, along with 1x11 gx drivetrain. Not sure how the price compares with the beastnut though - depends how much discount you can get a Halfords at the time if rrp.

Must have got used to the slackness / length of my bike now as all the pictures of bikes on this thread make them look short.

Anyone know how these size up? At 5ft8 I'm wondering if the medium might be to big...

A friend has just bought a medium V2 bossnut. He's 5'10 and whilst in the shop was able to sit on the large size frame also. He says medium fits better and he can fit a command dropper post.
I'll get to have a go on it at some point and I'm 5'8. I'll try and remember to report back when I've had a go.

Nothing wrong with qr or IS mounts - I've had numerous bikes with both my DH bike has a QR rear end even (it is from 2004 mind). Don't get sucked in by the hype.

I had a very quick go on the medium v2 bossnut that my friend has bought and size wise it was good. The command post had been fitted and the collar was slightly above the seat clamp. He has a tall saddle also so with a different seat there would be more clearance. Reach was fine also.

Hi guys I bought a Beastnut in may and have not even taken it out for a proper ride. I’m selling it as no point it sitting at home not being used as thought I would have more free time than I do. Please let me know if you are interested.
It’s a size large and totally clean with receipt and all manuals
