Did you kip in the "hut" at the top ... and are you now mad or a poet? as the myth states ๐Ÿ˜‰

Only one route up (and down) everything else is a footpath ... the powers that be get very upset with cheekyness.

Not sure of the routes name...but I parked my van opposite a pub on the road towards Twyn. Then picked up a bridleway at the back of a lake ... Lol sorry but it was quite straight forward to find and recomended by the bike shop bits in Machynlleth.

I would not do the bothy thing on your own with F8 NE gusts fighting to get inside the hut though!! Had a total of an hours kip and kept expecting Owain Glyndwr to wake me up.

Disturbed? You bet!!

I think if Owain Glyndwr had disturbed my sleep he'd be more scared of me than I would be of him!!! lol

On a dark cold night don't give yourself a fright
Stay in your own bed and cuddle your ted
Leave the summit tops to the wind and the gods
Or else you'll come down and make friends with the frogs!

Ace poem! ๐Ÿ˜†
Once met a Welshman in a pub who claimed to have carried his wife up Caddair Idris! I didn't ask why, just backed away slowly and out of the door. ๐Ÿ˜•

We did it last year, there isn't enough payback for the slog to the top really.

Good to say you've done it, but wouldn't bother again

Best way up Cadair Idris is the Cyfrwy Arete I believe.

The first "real mountain" ride I did was up Cadair.
This was before people could be bothered to tell mountainbikers that they shouldn't be riding on footpaths...

Still have brown pants from the descent off the table!! My first experience of leading a graded climb!

Disagree! It's a great descent. You probably didn't go fast enough!
