sorry not sure if this has been asked before, but just want to ask if the indirect loop from Wasdale, via Walna Scar road to Ambleside is a much better option than going direct i.e. up to Sty Head past Angle Tarn etc to Elterwater?

Am I right in thinking Rossett Gill is a bit of a walk? I'm wondering about taking the (good) descent from Sty Head to Stonewaite, then south along Langstrath beck over Stake pass!
