I posted in brexit thread. Got a message from my SIL in Austria. DPD won’t send to the uk after this Friday. She says their post office equivalent still sending though.

Be interesting to see what pans out then (and by interesting I mean nail-biting).

Had a confirmation order but no dispatch yet, so I guess if Bike Discount have shut up for lockdown I've probably missed the window.

I ordered a Cube bike from Austria on the evening of Friday 11th December, it's currently sat in Colnbrook, Berks 🤗, 🤞 it may arrive tomorrow 🤞

I think it depends on whether it's coming via air or sea. I got a shifter from China in 5 days last week. But my daughter's new bike never made it to land and has been sent back to Rotterdam.

Whatever you do I would buy it on a credit card so in theory you have some protection if it never arrives.

If you can, see who they deliver with.

DHL won't deliver from Germany to UK, because Corona.

UPS will however.

That's what I just got told today from an amazon order/supplier (not bike related)

I had a dispatch note from DHL yesterday, so I'll be following the tracking to see what happens. I'd have thought they'd refuse pickup if they couldn't deliver, but who knows?

Ordered via PP / CC.

I’ve made 2 orders with bike-discount.de, one on Thursday last week and one on Saturday. The first is now in bristol following a 2 day lull in tracking information that this thread made
Me worry about, the second is in Germany still at the same stage as Fridays was for a few days so hopefully it gets cleared and delivered soon as it’s with DPD.

Consistent with my Seatpost, with DPD, has gone from Frankfurt to Dusseldorf this morning. I'm interested as to whether it'll go via France or Rotterdam-Felixstowe, also DPD.

I just had a new fork arrive from Starbike, I think buying it was an excellent idea.

France or Rotterdam-Felixstowe, also DPD.

I'd be praying it doesn't go via Felixstowe!

I have a parecl from R2 sitting in the DHL Export Parcel Centre...it's been there since Saturday assuming the tracking is accurate, they did quote 2-6 business days though so hopefully it will move before Monday...

Tyres ordered from Bike24 on Sunday night, DHL just delivered them. Heck of a lot quicker than anything I've ordered from the UK.

interestingly I have a parcel from Bike24 that is down as "Order information has been transmitted to DPD."

and has been for a couple of days. if it was any other time I wouldn't worry for a while, this year.....

My DPD order has now arrived, it had been ordered 4 days after I ordered a UK based frame, my dispatch was delayed by 24 hours because a part wasn’t in stock so I had to choose some other items and it still arrived before my uk based products.
God bless the Germans.

Ordered from bike24, dispatched same day Thursday, received email from DHLexpress at 3.40 am saying it will be with me Monday.
That's German efficiency for you.

Seatpost arrived today, so thats 3 days. Awesome. Tracking shows it arrived in Oldbury after sitting at Dusseldorf, so I can only assume it was flown from Dusseldorf to Birmingham.

Canyon won't be shipping now until the 11th January once the dust has (hopefully) settled.

My order dispatched on Thursday is already at Manchester depot but I'll have to wait til Monday for delivery, if only I ordered on Wednesday I'd have it by now.

Not Germany, but my order from Mantel was cancelled on 8th December, just logged in today to see why it was so slow. Big order placed on Bike 24, hopefully this one gets through!

Well my brakes are now in Hinckley, so it's looking promising!

Gonna have to pull my finger out for the rest of the bits I need now.

My second order (placed last Sunday) was showing as “in transit” in a German place I’ve forgotten the name of for 3 days, and at 9.45am today it was showing the same.
It was delivered at 1.45 today.

Terrible tracking system, excellent delivery service!

Ha yeah. DPD actually tried to deliver yesterday afternoon, but I was at the park and the Mrs was in the bath so we missed it. Hopefully they'll try again today.

My child’s Christmas present had been sitting in some distribution centre in the Netherlands for days so I was getting a bit worried. Thankfully it got delivered yesterday even though tracking had it still abroad. I was getting a bit concerned about have to explain to a toddler that even Santa has been hit by brexit

Yeah, that shut down on most entry/exit is a bit of a mare for a whole ton of reasons. not least because of my frame thats sitting in Finland.

I know there are plenty of folks with many more serious issues that the mutant strain is causing on supply chains etc, but I've got all ym new bike bits ready (everything! forks, wheels, drivetrain, brakes...) so can someone please ensure my new frame makes it before x-mas? 😩

I noticed some of the German sites aren't shipping to UK until further notice - Rose and Bike24 being the 2 I can remember.

That might just be whole bikes. My Rose Bikes order was despatched today.

Rose aren't selling bike to the UK anymore since about October I think.
There's a pop up on the website now saying they won't ship from 20/12 until a trade deal is sorted.
Bike24 also won't ship anything as I was looking for some forks

where did you see that? I have an order that appears to have fallen through the gaps.

edit, oh they have updated everything individually to can't ship.

I suspect my order will get cancelled then, when I contact them.

@mrmo when you choose a product (any product...) it says 'Product not shippable to United Kingdom'.

Got my order today, the box was about 5 times bigger than it needed to be and stuffed with about 15m x 1m of thick paper scrunched up for protection. You could smuggle immigrants in Bike24's packaging. 😄

Mine was that size, my parts are fitted to the forks, just need to fit them back on the bike and try them out if the rain ever stops.
I've recycled the paper up the chimney to stop the draft.
