[Closed] Busted poploc return spring

Pressed my remote lockout lever earlier and heard a ping... Ended up with no springing back into full boing position, meaning that I have to now pull the end of the cable at the fork crown to lock the fork out etc.

Is this a common fault and is it easy to fix? Presumably there's a little spring under the blue lockout dial which has been knackered?

The spring's inside the damping mechanism and I suspect would be hard to replace. I assume you mean you're having to pull the cable at the fork crown to remove damping, not to lock the fork. This usually happens when the cable's damaged for some reason; it doesn't take much extra cable friction to defeat the spring.

Best solution is to do a search on here for threads on removing the poploc and replacing it with the damping adjustment on the crown, which has the added advantage of working properly - poploc is the most useless thing I've ever come across on a fork.

Yep, that's the one.

The cable is fine, the return spring is definitely the problem, there's no springy resistance when you turn the blue compression dial by hand...

I was hoping that it was just a little spring under the dial that can be replaced but it seems this is not the case.

Might be able to warranty it actually...
