Bummer, I saw that on facebook and wondered if it was that John's bike. 4th place and getting your bike knicked - not a great day then!
More importantly, I beat KingTut.
He didn't walk any of the climbs though.. 😉
and he eats proper food 😉
In fact, I'll bet it was MTG who killed the squirrel during a fight over some nuts or similar 😀
I'm dying to find the one someone took of me just as huge snot bubble appeared out of my left nostril due to the 'extreme' exertion I was putting my unfit body through!
I think the photographers missed a trick, they should have been at the top of the climb after the zig zags, just to capture the expression on peoples faces, I probably looked like I was giving birth.

I actually went to the trouble of weighing it yesterday as I've never got round to it, it comes out at 21 lb on the nail.
Approximately half the weight of any of your bikes. 😉

Well it said so on my scales and they have been calibrated and checked by customs and excise and everythink.
Perhaps your arms were it bit wimpy when you gave it a heft, you had done a lap by then..

andy - its a good job I didnt see the riser bar end combo I would have made sure it was your bars that snapped not mine!
Meh. I had them kicking about, I wasn't going to buy new bars becuase of some bullshine fashionistas would get sand in their vaginas about it.

Anything that gets you through solo effort is fine IMO bar ends on risers, even suss seat posts *shudders*, I had two bottles in cages on my bike during most of the race, people pointed and laughed, did I care? No, I just made them eat my dust..
andy if that was the issue you should have taken those those flat bars off me ! Im going to have to try and offload them somewhere!
