Anyone know of any hotels me and the gf can stay?
Probably not what you're after but the bunkhouse in Brechfa is great.

You could ask the folks at Bike Brechfa (Some of the nicest and most helpful people in UK MTB scene!) and they might be able to point you somewhere.
I can recommend a number of excellent, very high quality self-catering/cottage places, but they may be a bit dear for just two of you. Happy to do so though, if budget's less of an issue!
Not a hotel but can really recommend the Glasfryn B&B 01267202306 in Brechfa, good accom, food and a bar and not far from the trails.

Black Lion (only pub in town) has got a cottage they rent out. Always meaning to investigate further to take the family one day, but not got round to finding out more.
Swansea/Carmarthen is not that far away so maybe worth a look there, with Swansea offering the most options 😉
