I've recently put some new pads in my M575 brakes (I appreciate these brakes are awful). The front brake is tight and comparatively responsive, but the rear has loads of travel still, as if the auto-adjust on the piston isn't working. Any thoughts on how to resolve this?

Cheers

Check both caliper pistons aren't sticking, and are central and square to the disc first, but it's more likely that you've introduced air (that shouldn't really have been there)from the reservoir, into the pressurised part of the system. A bleed is probably in order, and if you spend enough time doing it you'll have a superb feeling lever and want to do the other one too.

Thanks fella. I was thinking a bleed might be a good idea.

Any other ways to improve the performance of these brakes?

Not really, once they're bled properly(lots of air still in them from the factory)they're surprisingly firm, align the caliper up properly and there's not much more you need to do with them other than experimenting with different pad makes/compounds.
