The brakes on my sons whyte are a bit rubbish, we’ve changed the callipers, pads abs rotors and lacking power. Plan D, wirh plan A-C being only marginally successful is to change the levers… Which Shimano levers are best for smaller hands, ie have good bite point adjustability? Many thanks.
Which model Whyte? And you looking for good reach adjustment or / and bite?
and have you bedded the pads/rotors in?
and what levers you have now?
Brought my 7 year old some cheap Shimano levers when his bust. Work fine for him.
Sounds like mechanical discs?
We gave up on them pretty quickly & put a set of Clarks hydro ones on, they were great.
A friend with small hands gets on well with slx. Bleeding with the pads in and 2mm discs helps too.
+1 for SLX, that's what my 'fairly diddy' 8 year old daughter's on, for many of the same reasons listed above.
Another vote for SLX, worked well for both of my kids when they were young.
My Deore's and mrs_oab's SLX all adjust inwards a lot.
Mrs_oab found her older Shimano levers more comfy than the new ones - and she has diddy hands.
