Sure this gets asked a bit... but... Aluminium frame (Giant Anthem), press fit BB92 XT bottom bracket going in. Should I apply a thin layer of grease or thread lock/loctite ? seems to be conflicting views. I am favouring grease.

Any grease or copper slip will be fine, but not needed.

Lots of people will of course tell you that what they use is the best.

Red Loctite...

Not really, just use a dab of grease.

A product that by its very design has to be removed and replaced at some point...Why would you want to glue it in?

Copper slip is for things that get hot. You're not going to pedal fast enough to generate enough heat to justify it.

Grease.

Copper slip is an anti seize compound, so heat causes the seizing.
TBH grease or copper slip would be fine. I've used both and never had any issues.
Anything is better than putting it in dry (fnaaarr!).

coppaslip - never ever assemble any joint dry. Grease where you remove if often. coppa slip if not removed very often, locktite if its at risk of coming undone

coppaslip is not just for things that get hot - its also good for preventing corrosion with dissimilar metals

Is it? Genuine question.

Thats my understanding - it prevents galvanic corrosion ie steel screws getting stuck in alloy castings. I use it everywhere on my bikes and have never suffered a seized bolt

Interesting. Never thought of using it on anything other than brakes etc.

Also known as Ti-prep for this reason.
