For reasons I won't bore you with - you'll laugh - I've found myself looking at a BMX.

At 6' 2''ish I know I should be looking at the longer TT frames or even cruisers but I've found one with a 21'' TT that fits the budget (next to nothing) and is in VGC.

I know 20'' racers and again 24'' cruisers come with longer TTs but this is a dirt/park frame and I believe these types of frame don't tend to come more than 1/2'' longer in the TT.

Sooooo are you a tall BMX rider? If so what size/length frame do you run?

6'1 on a 21" tt. One of my BMX riding buddies is 6'2 on a 21" tt. We ride at indoor and outdoor parks, and BMX tracks. Long tt or not a 20" wheeled BMX is going to feel small, you'll be fine on a 21". If the price is too good to miss, then just get it asap, you'll have a blast, they're amazing fun ๐Ÿ˜€

The only time it feels twitchy is when I've been out for a long XC ride on the 29er on a Sunday, then hit the BMX track on a Monday - what a contrast, normally results in a few wobbly moments and landings on the first lap but you very quickly adjust

I had a Specialised FatBoy (the BMX not the latest fat bike) which had a long top tube and fitted me quite well and I'm 6'1". No idea of the frame length but easy enough to look up.

*well, it's in the back of the shed unused for year and I keep meaning to clean it up and sell it then drag it out for a ride and resolve to actualy use it more.

The top tube length really dictates the type of riding you do more than how it fits you. Longer top tube are generally best for racing, maybe dirt jumping. You need shorter really for skatepark /street use and even shorter for flatland.

I am 5'7" and last rode a 18.5" frame for flatland/street/park use, but if I was buying one now if probably get a 21" for razzing around the streets on and going to the BMX track as my body simply can't bend as well as 15 years ago to do flatland!!!
