[#10671279]

The wife has got some ultegra 2015 approx br-rs805 hydraulic brakes on her road bike that feel spongy.

When i peeled back the rubber hood on the shifter to screw in the oil fill reservoir, i couldn't see where to put an Allen key to remove the oil reservoir cap. There was a cap that needed a small screw driver to open it. When opened the thread it was too small for the oil fill reservoir to screw onto. I had a look around for another hole. Do i need an adapter? I can't one to feed oil in.

Any ideas
Thanks in advance

Could well be at the back of the shifter, rather than the top, often hidden from view by the edge of the bar tape.

`Ooooh yes. There is a diamond cover underneath the rubber hood if i pull it back far enough.

On removal there is a tiny horizontally mounted reservoir, which needs the bike to be level to fill it.

The horizontal cable routing under the bar tape is going to make bleeding interesting. I think I'll have to take the bar tape off to chase out the bubbles by making the cables not-horizontal. I'll try the lazy approach first.

It was half full until i press the brake to pump out the air. Now it's empty and no brake at all now. I'll get the tissues. Every day is a school day. Feel free to laugh. I am. LOL!

Does anyone know how to attach images from my phones gallery, or is there still only the link to URL option (IMG).

Should you not be pumping fluid in from the caliper? You'll still need a syringe or funnel on the lever but shouldn't need to remove tape to bleed the system
