Some POV footage from an extremely wet day at BPW last Sunday. Even though the rain was torrential at times the trail rode really well. Great fun.

I know its Wales but, has anyone been to BPW and had dry, dusty and sunny day? Both times i've been its been nasty, 1st was torrential rain and I wasn't on the uplift, soul destroying ride up into the cloud/mist/fog and the 2nd it snowed, we managed 2 runs and the bus got stuck so that was it for the day.

Look forward to seeing some Sunny edits during the Summer.

Been twice and been pretty much dry. Well the second time it chucked it down after lunch but at that point I was heading to A&E ๐Ÿ˜€

I've had gorgeous weather at BPW... didn't make the place any good though.

I went about a month ago and it was California levels of dusty. Was very unnerving.

Can't quite put my finger on it... just had a crap time all 3 times I've been. I have tried to like it and my group think I'm weird for not liking it but I just don't, certainly isn't as engaging and flowy Antur stiniog or Revolution Bike park.

Nice video, was there Saturday, if only the descent was one continuous descent like in the video!

Was bone dry other than the odd 1 or 2 muddy puddle

+1

Think we're in the minority but the place does nothing for me.

Bike Park Wales video

Got my attention

Some POV footage

Lost my attention

Sorry torihada, I'm being a bit cruel. I just have a bee in my bonnet about the endless stream (pun intended) of POV footage. I wish more people would take some time and effort to get off their bike and mix their shots up a bit rather than just turning their helmet cam on. Finding BPW footage that isn't POV is like looking for the proverbial needle in a haystack. I apologise that you got my grumpiness offloaded on your thread ๐Ÿ˜†

I'm sure it's excellent POV footage though ๐Ÿ™‚

(If you'd not put POV in the post I might have watched it)

[EDIT] glad you had a great time. I loved it.

Great vid, probably best video of BP i've seen yet. Also, nice cut at 2:42. Those roots further on look like a right mare in the wet. What route is that for the first 1min 55? I don't recognise any of it.

I know its Wales but, has anyone been to BPW and had dry, dusty and sunny day?

One BH weekend it was fast, dusty and awesome...until I ended in an ambulance (the change on Bush Whacker is because of me). The last BH weekend was sopping but on the sunny Monday it was still surprisingly dryish on most of the trails. The place seems to drain really well except for Dai hard maybe.

The only negatives I have is that it doesn't have much techy stuff (excluding the jumps), it's quite flat and therefore quite pedally so stringing something from top to bottom in one fast run is exhausting.

Damn it. Now I feel even nastier for my comments ๐Ÿ™

1000 lashes for me (and maybe I will take a look after all...)

Maybe I just haven't looked hard enough. All the ones I've looked to show routes to show my brother are some guys mincing about with a shakey headcam mount.

OK, watched it, at least up until 3 mins and then skipped through the rest. I stand by my original comments (but still feel guilty for not being more constructive in my criticism). To be fair the footage is well framed and not too shaky, but 13 minutes of POV and nothing else is hard going.

Yep, I agree that POV footage gets boring and 13 mins is too long. But its really a self serving video; the riders I follow get a chance to see their riding. Given the choice of getting static trail side shots and riding the bike, I'll always ride the bike.

I tend to watch other peoples POV head cams to get an idea of the trails I'm going to ride. If I want 'quality video' I'll watch the pro stuff. Here's the other side of our POV adventures (some strong language) which you'll either love or hate:
