Now I have never betted on anything before but want to put some money (£5) on Brad. Where is offering the best odds? Where would I get the best deal for setting up an account?

Thanks

No value for Brad atm as outright winner - he's as low as evens with some bookies. Was something like 25-1 at the start of the year.

Really? Is he the favourite then?

Yep.

I was going to stick £20 on a Wiggo Tour/Cav Olympics double, and even that wasn't worth it.

He is mate yeah. Closely followed by Cadel Evans then a gap to Nibali, Menchov et al around 20-1.

Could all get turned upside down as the race proceeds of course, so it might get more interesting as far as putting your money behind Brad goes.

Betfair has to be the best value, be shocked if any bookie beat any of their odds.

To win currently is:

Bradley: 2.58
Cadel: 3.25
Vincenzo Nibali: 23.5
The rest higher.

Betfair odds are generally as close to true odds as you can get, wisdom of the crowds n that.

**** me that means we might actually get a British winner!

But given our luck and the nature of the tour it might be worth putting a 5'er on some of the long-shots? Plus you can lay-off to take a profit if one of the fav's takes a tumble.

Not worth such a small bet on wiggo with his odds. I've had a punt on nibali, better fun with the green, and the kom is even more fun. I don't think cav will ride to Paris (and in my heart couldn't see him getting the support if wiggo holds good), so the green could be quite open, I've got money on 2 for it.

This is the most useful site for any sports betting. Compares the odds across the bookies (including Betfair) for any event they are offering.
tinribz is right, but 5/4 is there from the high street bookies too which may be easier.

To me, nibaldi and menchoz look good bets at each way (quarter odds for top 3 finish), and Goss for points.
If the rumours about Cav dropping out part way are true, those other points odds will drop like a stone.
The other thing to consider is Brit riders will be overpriced due to their popularity and the bookies potential losses if it comes in. There's always better value backing foreigners.
