[Closed] Best/cheapest way to post a bike?

Have you sold the Intense?

Interested as Mrs Zip has arranged a "surprise" trip to Cornwall for us. As usual we are flying down and not sure if flybe will have space on their little plane for a fat bike.
Has anyone taken a bike on the gatwick Newquay flight?

You need to weigh and box the bike before you get started but parcelforce will come and collect it pretty sharpish ime - I didn't have time to print the label before they were knocking at the door!

Collected Monday delivered Wednesday. Optional insurance as well depending on the value

If I use parcel force will they collect it or do I need to drag it to a post office and put it on the scales?

They will collect.

I usually use Paisley Freight, with the appropriate insurance. But have also delivered myself within 100miles for peace of mind, and it worked out a bit less. Obviously cost more time.....but was an excuse to have a lovely day walking in the peak district.

Kryton - nope the intense is still hanging on in there (just). It's an old hybrid commuter bike I'm shifting.

I usually get my boxes from Halfords or LBS, they only chuck them out anyway. Just pop in and ask.

....but make sure you can fit it in the car 🙂

paisley freight have a specific category for bikes, you don't have to worry about weight and the insurance and carriage is appropriate. Used them several times without issue.
