Tubeless, qr and a narrow rim .
Anyone seen anything better than the £189 wheels on Superstar?
What about Mavic Crossrides - not so sure they come in 29 QR flavour though. Got a set of 26" on my old MTB and the wheels are bombproof, never needed to touch the bearings. Also a set of through axel ones on my Mrs 29er.
Was going to suggest same - most Mavics come with QR adapters. My son has a set on his daily use 29er, going on 4 years now. Used at bike parks since he's been at uni too!

I'm on my third freehub for their V6 hub in a few months.
What sort of riding are you planning to do with a sub-£200 wheelset. Can't imagine they'd be good for anything other than light road use in decent weather.

What sort of riding are you planning to do with a sub-£200 wheelset. Can’t imagine they’d be good for anything other than light road use in decent weather.
Nothing adventurous just gravel tracks and up the side of the Thames.

Have had mine on a hardtail for a couple of years and have been great apart from the high pitched freewheel noise although the trade off is really fast engaging hub
The Superstar ones seem to have same rims they used on their cheap wheelbuilds four or five years ago - and they were decent, if a bit soft. Perfectly adequate for what you describe.
They now use their UK made V3 hubs, which I guess are a bit of a punt (as that chap above suggests). Shame they dropped the bombproof Switch (Novatec) hubs they used to use really.
I'd take a chance on them, probably.
95% of bikes come with sub £200 wheelsets as stock, the trails are littered with the dead especially when it rains.
Been using Superstar Isotope rims/V6 hubs on the hardtail for a while and theyve taken a pounding with no probs.
Mavic crossmax can be had for that money, check out merlin etc
Of course if anyone has some nice second hand ones they want to sell I'm up for that.

I'm probably going to sell the wheels I've been using on my gravel bike. 240 rear, 350 front, WTB frequency team 29" i19 (19mm internal and not heavy rims). Currently setup as 135mm qr rear and 9mm RWS front.
