Shorter local rides I usually ride packless, using a Fabric Keg for tools, etc. and a tube strapped under the saddle. No drink.

For longer rides where I need to carry water, etc. my 10l Camelbak Charge is now a bit big so looking for something a bit more minimalist.

Current front runner is probably the USWE Airborne3, but what other pared-down hydration packs does STW like?

I’ve picked up a Camelbak Chase Bike Vest for doing “Gravel” endurance rides and CX sportives etc.

I’ve been pretty impressed so far! Seems comfy - I have taken the minimalist approach following a badly broken collar bone a few years ago.

I believe Singletrack will be reviewing some soon...

I love the new Wingnut 1.8. I used the 2.5 a lot before which is great for biggish rides, but the 1.8 is ideal for a few hours when I can't stash enough stuff on myself and the bike.

Lots of bum bags available atm too (I have a few) and although good if you only want to carry tools, some foods, etc they become annoying if weighted down with water or stuffed too full. I probably  prefer to fill pockets, bottle cages and use straps to hold things on the bike.

Dunno but since discovering Evoc, I enjoy the minimalist feel to the stage 3L and the features.

I have an Osprey bumbag, but it doesn't sit nice on my (paunchy) bodyshape. Small Rocket frame is lacking in bottle bosses - the only usable ones already hold the Keg. Not sure about the Wingnut stuff - one of the reasons I like the USWE is it sits high up and flat.

tdog - will check out the Evoc. Thanks.

This ^^^.   I’ve recently bought / used the USWE, it really is very good.

How about a stash vest as an alternative, like the Race Face one or Alpinestars Paragon vest?
