Can anyone give me some idea of how to find the good stuff that allegedly runs from Bench tor down to the river Dart? Had a good look earlier in the year, but only managed to find the wide, rocky path that eventually leads to Venford. Be nice to tack something else on to Dr B's.
Thanks in advance.

check the strava heatmap for some clues...with a bit of hiking you can get onto quite a good path from sharrah pool back to newbridge.

have you ridden Son of Dr Blackall as well?

Cheers for the pointers, we rode the whole path that takes you underneath Bench Tor, but couldn't spot anything that peeled of it to the river. Will have to go and have another look.
Never ridden son of Dr B, will have to give that a go. Newbridge climb is a bitch though!

The road around the back (through the back of the car park) is easier than up the main road. The run down to the river is probably pretty overgrown, don't think it gets a lot of traffic as it is a dead end. From memory it's almost opposite the track that comes down from bench tor as it drops into the main track.

The start of the link through to newbridge is just as you start to climb again. Switchbacks down the hill a couple of times and then peters out into a boulder field.

I went to lustleigh, wettest I've been in a while...some fast times though, mainly cos I couldn't see or stop very effectively.
