Anyone used the benalmedena cable car to uplift the local trails without a guide?
I've had a look on trail forks and there is a bit on there to follow.

cheers

james

Not used the cable car as it was closed when we were there. Rode up a few times though. The ride wasnt too bad. Though wouldnt want to do it much more than twice in a day. Its quite big, some of my rides were only 6 to 7km long but included 500m ascent.

Brilliant trails up there.
My favourite was on Strava under Enduro R3 Bajada. Slightly to the west.

Dot.

Tend to be there out of season - about five or so years ago i was in the car before one then two bikes got out of the cars after me. Most years i've been there it's not been running because of either high winds or out of season - will deffo check back in if there is a bit more gen.

There look to be lots of quite obvious trails down towards Torremolinos, but i'd also like to hear from those with some knowledge.

There is a 'tariff' for bikes in the car - so they're set up for it, for sure - will await updates.

Also interested in more info on this. I live down the road in San Pedro but have not used the cable car myself. I think there are some trails near Ojén too

Thanks for the reply’s
Hadn’t realised that the cable might not be open, a local shop (wild bikes) advertise a £30 day pass to take your bike on the cable car, I’ve emailed them for more info
Found a couple of local Ebike rental options so might do that instead
Anyone know how easy it is to find/navigate the trails there?

James

We spent a day riding the trails under the cable car a few years ago. They were pretty decent and I'm sure we only found a couple, I'm guessing there are a few more than we found.

Have a look on strava, they should be on there. One of the trails had some reasonably sized jumps and drops on it, another was more mellow, but still with some smaller drops

The cable car does take bikes, they make you take the front wheel off and put the bike in the gondola with you.

You can buy individual uplift tickets or a day pass. We just bought individual tickets
