Looking to replace the external BB on a truvativ GXP set up. Will a shimano Deore fit the crank axle?

the width of the axle on a shimano is the same all along the length, on truvativ it is stepped

Hope do a conversion kit for use on their hubs. Basically an extra insert to reduce the diameter of one side.
