Hi

The old XTR M952 splined bottom bracket has just died on my bike and it looks like it's no longer available. Does anyone know if other Shimano Octolink BB's will fit? I have a fuzzy memory of being told the splined interface is different on the XTR ones.

Thanks.

Keith.

Something in the back of my mind says the same thing so you could be right.

I'd wait till you get a definite answer though.

Thanks uplink. It looks like I'm shopping for cranks and BB now. Had a few mates with premature external BB failures so might take a look at the Middleburn RS7's and a good old square taper BB.

Just took a quick look at the 105's. The lengths won't suit as I'm running it singlespeed.

Thanks for the advice though.

And UN-54 BB's are £13. You know it makes sense!

Thanks for the offer Simon but I've just bought a new front ring so I need the cranks with a 4 bolt spider.

Sqwubbsy,

I am selling my TruVativ FiveD 175mm black square taper cranks, bare for £12 posted. These need a 113mm BB and are both light and stiff. Threads and tapers are all perfect, light rubbing to arms only.
They are 4-bolt 104mm and 64mm BCD.

Bargain!

They come in at approx 520g which is less than LX M570 and M572.

Pix on email request.
