That''s mine ordered too - 1 Black medium. Wish I had found a green one though... Oh well, for that price I can't complain. +3 on pit zips.

Another impulse buy here. But even if I fold it up and stick it out the way till Ive wrecked my other coats it will do the job for a song.

cheers all.

Indeed. I am wondering why everyone is getting so carried away about this. You can get better Montane jackets for the same price in the sales.

Black is far from ideal riding on the road and also on the trail. I like to have some degree of visibility to other road users and trail dwellers. Flo green is a horrid colour though. Not too offended by orange though

Could anyone give me an idea on sizing.
I usually hover between a small and medium depending on the make and baggyness. I am 5 foot 6 with a 38-40 chest

5 seconds of googling later....

Firstly, there are none in stock, I can't add one to the basket.

Second, I don't see pit zips, front pockets, adjustable hem, adjustable cuffs. The hood also looks very naff, no wire peak or any adjustability at the rear. All of which are fairly essential for the nature of the sport.

try again?

The close up of the jacket on their site isn't the most flattering. The water isn't beading very well at all, which suggests poor waterproofing ability. Still for 40 quid what can you really expect. Probably OK for light rain.

As an an alternative just spotted this
http://www.aldi.co.uk/uk/html/offers/special_buys3_22405.htm

£20 for gore windstopper soft-shell seems pretty good. Meant for golf so not sure what the cut would be like and doesn't lok like there's refletives but no hood which personally I prefer. On sale Thursday

If I was on the outlook for MTB clothing Montane would be my first port of call. Their stuff actually works!! Dare2be, pffft wouldn't pay that much for their stuff IMHO.

Regardless of price, i find bike jackets are pretty disposable items. The amount they get sh1t up and need washing, nothing ever keeps beading water or breathes that well just cos cycling is pretty exerting.

So for 30 quid odd, seems reasonable.

to be honest im not one to go out for a ride if it's tipping it down with rain.

If, however, it starts raining whilst I am out, a water repellent jacket would be nice.
